What is Airport Direct?

Door-to-airport transfers from your home or hotel — stress-free travel starts here.

Our "Airport Direct" Service provides a door-to-airport transfer, taking you directly from your home or accommodation in Nagano or Gunma to Narita or Haneda Airport without any transfers.

It is operated as a shared-ride service, picking up passengers heading to the same airport along the way. For the return trip, the service runs in reverse – from the airport to each passenger’s home or accommodation.

No need to carry heavy luggage through train stations or worry about complex transfers.

Even for early-morning flights, you can reach the airport without an overnight stay.

The service is available from solo travelers to groups of up to 7 passengers per vehicle.

The standard shared ride fare for 1–2 passengers on Narita-bound services tends to be higher, but our Scheduled Shared Ride Plan offers a more affordable rate. For groups of 3 or more, we recommend the standard shared ride plan.

Foreign Guests Can Use with Ease

When you apply for our optional Meet & Greet Service (additional fee), the driver will greet you holding a name sign, allowing for a smooth and easy meeting upon your arrival.

For guests who do not speak Japanese, the use of this service is required.

Meet & Greet (name sign) Service

Smooth Pickup at Arrival — No Japanese Needed

This is a paid optional service in which the driver will meet you holding a signboard with your name.

For guests who do not speak Japanese, the use of this service is required.

The reason is that, under normal procedures, we ask customers to call us upon arrival so that our staff can guide them to the meeting point. However, depending on the time of day, our support may be available only in Japanese, which may result in communication difficulties and the driver being unable to meet you.

This service also requires the WhatsApp Messenger app. We kindly ask you to install WhatsApp on your smartphone before making your reservation.

[How to Use This Service Upon Arrival]
1. Please provide your WhatsApp phone number when you apply.
2. After your flight arrives, connect to the airport’s free Wi-Fi and check for a message from your driver.
3. Move to the meeting point indicated in the message. The meeting location differs depending on the airport and terminal. Once you arrive at the location, please reply to inform the driver.
4. The driver will come to meet you holding a red flag and a signboard with your name.

Luggage

Shared Plans
Each passenger may bring 1 suitcase and 2 pieces of hand luggage free of charge. For any additional items beyond this allowance, an extra fee of ¥1,000 per item will be charged.

Hand luggage must not exceed 55 cm × 40 cm × 25 cm.

For oversized items, please contact us for a separate estimate.

Full Vehicle Plan
For the Full Vehicle Plan, no additional luggage fees apply.

Since the Full Vehicle Plan reserves the entire vehicle for your group, you may load as much luggage as will fit in the vehicle.

Ski and Snowboard Bag Guidelines

Shared Plans
For shared ride plans, an additional fee of ¥1,000 per ski or snowboard bag will be charged.

Ski and snowboard bags cannot be stored in the rear luggage compartment and must be placed in the aisle between seats. This may obstruct other passengers when boarding or disembarking.

For this reason, we can only accept one small ski or snowboard bag per group. If you have a medium or larger bag, or multiple bags, the Shared Ride Plan cannot be used. In such cases, please book the Full Vehicle Plan (private charter).

A small bag is defined as up to approximately 170 × 30 × 15 cm (67 × 12 × 6 inches).

Full Vehicle Plan
For the Full Vehicle Plan, no additional luggage fees apply.

Since the Full Vehicle Plan reserves the entire vehicle for your group, you may bring as many as will fit in the vehicle.

However, please note that loading many bags will make the interior very cramped, and all bags may need to be unloaded and reloaded when boarding or disembarking.

  • Are there additional charges for extra luggage?

    For the Shared Ride Plan, each passenger may bring 1 suitcase and 2 carry-on items free of charge. Additional items such as extra suitcases, carry-ons, ski bags, or snowboard bags will be charged at 1,000 JPY per item. For other types of luggage, please contact us in advance.

    For the Full Vehicle Plan, all luggage is free as long as it fits inside the vehicle.

  • Is the service available 24/7?

    We do not operate for flights arriving at or departing from the airport between 12:00 AM and 5:00 AM.

    When traveling to the airport, the earliest arrival time is 5:00 AM, and the latest is 8:00 PM.

    When traveling from the airport, the earliest departure time is 7:00 AM.

  • Can we take breaks during the ride?

    Yes, we make several short stops along the way, each lasting about 10 to 15 minutes.

    While it is not possible to have a full meal at a restaurant during the breaks, you may purchase light snacks and enjoy them in the vehicle. (Please refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages.)

  • Can I request pickup or drop-off at places other than the airport (e.g., Tokyo or Shinjuku)?

    We’re sorry, but Airport Direct operates exclusively between Haneda/Narita airports and Nagano or Gunma Prefecture. Drop-off at other locations (such as Shinjuku) is not available, and we kindly ask for your understanding.

  • Can we make a stop for sightseeing along the way?

    We’re sorry, but while brief rest stops are possible during airport transfers, we are unable to make detours for sightseeing or other activities. This is a direct service between the airport and your destination, designed to provide you with the fastest and most convenient journey. Thank you for your understanding.

  • The pickup time for going to the airport feels too early. Can it be made later?

    We schedule multiple rest breaks along the way.

    In addition, we allow sufficient travel time to ensure you arrive in time for your flight, even in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather or traffic congestion.

    While the departure time we provide may feel early, it is set to ensure a safe and worry-free journey. We sincerely appreciate your understanding.
